  • FCC Registration Number (FRN)
    • Get an FRN (free, required for exam)
      • Once you have created an account you will receive an email from the FCC to confirm the account and apply for an FRN. Be sure to copy down the FRN number you are issued and bring it with you to the testing location.
  • Schedule an exam
    • In person @ Fosyth Amateur Radio Club, Winston-Salem
      • https://w4nc.com/testing/$12 exam + $35 to FCC for the license
        • What to bring:  Your FRN number and driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID is required. A valid email address is needed to let you know your new call sign.
        • Applicants may wish to bring a basic calculator for use during the exam as we have a limited number of basic calculators to loan. Use of smartphones and programmable calculators is prohibited.
