AuxComm – Tour to Tanglewood

Annually the MS Society hosts one of its major research fund raising activities in the fall at Tanglewood Park.  This event is called Bike MS – Tour to Tanglewood and is a two-day cycling event that garners over 1000 cyclist from across the state, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee.  In 2019 this event raised over $805,000 for MS research.  This research has resulted in several new drugs that for the first time may stop or reduce the impact of MS.   Forsyth County AuxComm is proud to support the MS Society during this event.

Tour to Tanglewood is Forsyth County AuxComm’s main public service event and is used also to practice our EmComm skills and equipment.  During this large scale, event covering 4 counties, we provide primary communications throughout the route structure at rest / medical aid stops as well as providing radio equipped Support & Gear (SAG) vehicles.  Also in 2019, Forsyth County AuxComm was awarded the MS Society’s Outstanding Group of the Year award.
